Biography

In 2011, Cristina’s passion for oil painting began when Cheryl Allin, a well established self taught oil painter, invited her to her studio in northern Colorado.  This interaction left her with a desire to dive deeper into the creative world of oil painting.

In 2021, Cristina embarked on a journey to develop her skills by enrolling in art lessons, immersing herself in galleries, reading books on art, and seeking inspiration from all facets of life.  At present, her time is devoted to creating distinctive pieces of artwork in her personal studio, attending art exhibitions, and connecting with fellow artists. Cristina serves as secretary on the non-profit board of Tri Arts Project, whose main goal is to build an arts center in Castle Rock, Colorado. She is also a member of the Castle Rock Art Alliance where she helps with exhibits around town.

Cristina lives in beautiful Colorado, with her husband and three children.  They love to explore all that Colorado has to offer by hiking or visiting small mountain towns, indoor rock climbing, practicing yoga, and just spending time as a family.

Statement

I create one of a kind oil abstract paintings using a balance between color, movement, and composition.  My goal is to create something that is not only visually stunning but also has a deeper meaning and connection to the viewer.

There is a Zen-like meditative state while painting and where inspiration flows.  Getting to this state of mind helps me get lost in the painting, and allows me to express any emotions that are brought up while working.

I think it is important to create art that is authentic and true to your own experiences and emotions, and my art reflects this belief.
